Our creative subconscious doesn't register wallpaper

Where are the strong images and do they feel interesting?

These are the principal questions I ask myself when I'm experiencing and exploring visual works of art. These are also the principal things we remember from a dream.

The more we see one-dimensional and typical works the hungrier we are for something deeper.

Great artists know how to use simplicity. All my favourite artists from Edvard Munch to Hieronymus Bosch knew how to draw you in.
I can't remember where I first saw Munch's Scream but I remember the feeling.

Puzzled David Hemmings returns to the scene of a murder in Dario Argento's Deep Red (Profondo rosso, 1975).
