Q: What does mainstream success mean to you?
A: It shouldn't be the starting point.
You start with ideas and artistic motives. Your job is to notice what is missing. Creative success involves risk-taking and raising the bar.
The current mainstream is not good at that. You can't do that if you're just brainwashed by some algorithm, chasing numbers and worshipping information.
It's time to fight back. Unknown artists are considered worthless now. It's not about reviving the old underground, we need a new one.
The new creative underground is the answer. This is the real long term commitment. I am not just repeating instant gratification.
