Art questions March 2022

Q: Have you approached any record labels?

A: I haven't. I don't trust most record labels anymore. They don't know what they're doing. There are very few labels I would like to be associated with. A lot of the smaller Finnish labels are run by pathetic neo-nazi imbeciles. That's the worst kind of bullshit.

I want to give you experiences. Most people are lost in consumption.

The mechanics versus the creative impulse. Creative impulse doesn't cost anything. We should be saying "why be an artist" instead of "how to be an artist."

I'm talking about creativity and things that would have a positive effect. Think about that before you say I'm "sounding very negative." I have no patience left for these idiots. What the hell happened to the spirit of protest?

Art questions February 2022

Q: What did your parents think about drawing skills as a child?

A: They just said I was good at drawing. Good for them.

Very young people making realistic drawings should never be famous just because of that. Never. I made drawings like that when I was 12, and everyone just thought I was good at drawing. That was a healthy response. I was technically advanced, not an artist.

A lot of these kids are thinking about quitting. They don't know where to go, but they're famous for one thing. That is torture.

Everyone says: "look at the numbers." I say: look at the miserable little kid. Take a good look. The reality in that face.

Stanley Kubrick was a photographer as a teenager and he got paid for that. He was only taking the first steps towards something. Why the hell would you stop there?
